How to Deal With Stress
In order to define stress in the simplest way, it is an outward force that may be
causing disruptions in the normal flow of our life. Stress can be caused by a lot of different factors
— either stress in the workplace, at school, or just
anywhere that you could think of. Tips on how to deal with stress can be the same for all people, but when
we look for ways to release stress, it varies from person to person. There is also a thing called
relaxation therapy, which includes different relaxation techniques suggested by different people on how to
deal with stress. Again, this also varies from one person to another because no two persons, even twins,
react the same in terms of how to deal with stress.
Personally, the way on how I deal with stress is by massage therapy. It is the
type of relaxation therapy which I find the most effective, and it is one of the many relaxation techniques that
seem to work best for me. It is undeniably one of the many ways to release stress, and it seems to have a magical
way on how it releases the stress out of your body. Resting or sleeping is another way on how to deal with stress.
Simply by taking a rest or lying down, you get to relax your body muscles which really in itself is a way on how to
release stress. It is just another relaxation technique and a way to release stress that I could think of, though I
believe is not really a kind of a relaxation therapy. Another way on how to deal with stress which I could think of
is by showering with hot water after a long day. Although I believe that there is no scientific explanation behind
this, this is still a relaxation therapy and a relaxation technique that I stand by as a way to release stress. Our
muscles are usually tired when we are stressed out so whenever we bathe in hot water, it usually begins to relax
(from the contracted form that it used to be) — that is how it is able to release stress. However, they may still be other ways on how to deal with
stress that is unknown to me. For some, they may say that praying is their way on how to deal with stress.
For other people, they say that having and eating a scoop of ice cream is their form of relaxation therapy.
Lastly, for some people, writing on their journals or on their diaries is their way to release stress. Just
like what I have said right from the start, different people — different ways on how to deal with stress. Although we might find the way one person releases his
stress, we must learn to respect that. Whichever relaxation therapy or relaxation technique that he might
find effective on how to release stress, we should always learn to accept it whether we find it funny or
somewhat silly. What we call as a relaxation therapy is a person’s own way on how to deal with stress and is his own way to release stress. Frankly speaking, if we
are not in favor of a person’s relaxation techniques or what his ways to release stress are, it is not our problem anymore. If
we are not in favor of one’s relaxation techniques and their way on how
to release stress, it is not part of our job anymore to change it.
On the other hand, there is what we call relaxation techniques for anxiety. The
feeling of anxiety that is caused by stress is probably the hardest topic on how to deal with stress to talk about.
When it comes to this matter, the only and probably the most effective relaxation technique for anxiety is by
facing your own problem and not letting a day pass by without it being fixed. That is the only way on how to deal
with stress when it comes to this matter. Come on, let us face it. If we look for relaxation techniques for
anxiety, we may probably find none. So what we are going to do is to follow the “normal steps” on how to deal with
stress. But after being relaxed, our anxiety is still there. In fact, it may worsen because we prolonged it even
before we try to fix it. The best way to put this into words is to face our anxiety right away, for it not to cause
us stress along the way.
